Nevada Hunt Units for Sheep
Many people ask where to put in for when it comes to Desert Bighorns. For many it is a critcal decision as 15-25 years or more may be invested into the process. As a hunting guide I understand fully how important it is to make the right decision. My hunt choices would be as follows:
#1 – 268 Muddy Mountains, both Auction Hunters harvested in this unit last year and neither will be able to hunt in this unit this year.
#2 – 253 Bare Mountain – Always a great unit. This unit will be open to the Auction Hunters, almost 3 months prior to regular season.
#3 – 263 McCullough Mountain – Great Unit with high sheep numbers. Good genetics which are on an upswing as of late.
#4 – 262 Spring Mountains – Very large unit with high sheep numbers and highly varied terrain.
#5 – 267 Black Mountain – Smaller unit with limited access, bordered by Lake Mead making scouting from a boat a fun alternative.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss any of this information and talk about units with better draw odds as well.

Good Luck, and just remember, you can’t draw if you don’t put in.
